The survey on severe disruptions in the supply chain, economic losses, and recovery efforts of businesses was conducted from September 10 to September 15, 2024, with the participation of 216 companies from various sectors: manufacturing (38.7%), retail and distribution (15.1%), logistics and supply chain (26.9%)...
The survey results showed that 15.4% of companies faced severe disruptions, while 53.6% experienced operational delays but managed to control them. Especially, businesses in the supply chain & logistics sector were most severely affected, with 82.4% of companies facing either significant or moderate impacts.

For instance, the Vang Dan coal mine in Quang Ninh province was completely cut off from electricity and communication at one point due to landslides on the road from Uong Bi city.
According to CEL, around 50-60% of the surveyed companies' factories suffered severe flooding, while 30-40% of industrial infrastructure suffered roof damage from strong winds. Furthermore, about 20-30% of companies had to deal with inventory losses, especially in sectors like electronics and wood products.
With support from various levels of government and the efforts of businesses, 44.6% of surveyed companies expressed expectations of recovery within 1-2 weeks through rapid resource mobilization. However, as they enter the actual recovery phase, businesses may find that the recovery time could be longer and encounter unforeseen challenges.
