During the meeting, the Prime Minister highly praised the conglomerate's financial strength, advanced technology, and management capabilities, as well as its investment activities and vision for building green and smart ports. Vietnam is ready to create favorable conditions for foreign investors to promote logistics projects.
Vietnam has over 3,200 km of coastline, ranking among the top 20 economies with the largest international trade scale. Vietnam is intensifying the development of transportation infrastructure, including maritime transport infrastructure and fleets, to reduce the high logistics costs, enhance the competitiveness of goods and the economy.
The Prime Minister suggested that the conglomerate research and participate in specific projects that Vietnam is calling for investment in, such as Lien Chieu port (Da Nang), Can Gio International port (Ho Chi Minh City), some seaports in the North, Central, and Southwest regions. The Prime Minister also proposed that the conglomerate invest in other areas such as digital transformation, green transformation, circular economy; while sharing experiences in port management and operations, providing policy recommendations, and supporting Vietnam in accessing international financial sources to develop transportation infrastructure such as seaports, airports, high-speed railways, urban railways, etc.
Mr. Robert Maersk Uggla highly praised the achievements of the Vietnamese government in improving the business environment, facilitating foreign investors, as well as efforts in digital and green transformation towards sustainable development goals and commitments made at Vietnam's COP26 conference.
