Ta Dung National Park - The Next Destination on InterLOG's Journey to Green Vietnam

After two meaningful destinations in Chau Doc (An Giang) and Truong Sa (Khanh Hoa), InterLOG's greening journey continues this June with a stop at Ta Dung National Park.

Journey to Protect the Important "Lungs" of the Central Highlands

After a period of thorough research and surveys, InterLOG has chosen Ta Dung National Park, one of the most important primeval forests not only in the Central Highlands but also nationwide, as the third destination in its journey to contribute to planting "1 billion trees" for Vietnam.

With an area of approximately 21,000 hectares, of which over 16,000 hectares are natural forest, Ta Dung National Park plays a pivotal role in protecting biodiversity and maintaining water sources for a vast region.

According to data from Gia Lai Newspaper (2022), the Central Highlands possesses about 2.1 million hectares of natural forest, accounting for 14% of the total natural forest area nationwide. Although Ta Dung only accounts for about 1% of the Central Highlands' natural forest area and about 0.14% of the national total, its ecological value is exceptionally special. This is because it is a convergence point between two forest ecological regions, Truong Son and Southern Central Highlands, creating an ideal habitat for many rare animal and plant species.

A chosen area for reforestation in Ta Dung National Park, where InterLOG will donate and plant 3,000 trees, expected in June.

Beyond its precious and protected biological ecosystem, Ta Dung also plays a crucial role in regulating climate and retaining water for large rivers such as the Serepok and especially the Dong Nai River - an essential water source for daily life, industrial and agricultural production, and power generation for the Southern key economic region, home to nearly 20 million people in Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, and surrounding areas.

In the context of severe degradation of Central Highlands forests, planting, protecting, and sustainably developing Ta Dung National Park not only means preserving the region's "green lungs" but also contributes significantly to protecting water sources, conserving biodiversity, and fostering local economic and social development.

"Natural Lungs" Always Need Protection

By choosing Ta Dung Forest, InterLOG not only wishes to contribute to reforestation and protecting the local green ecosystem but also to spread a strong message about the essential role and value of forests for human life.

Headwater forests like Ta Dung have long served as a natural "shield," not only absorbing CO2 and releasing O2 to purify the air but also regulating climate, preventing soil erosion, retaining water, and regulating river flow. When well-protected, forests retain rainwater on their canopies, allowing water to gradually penetrate the soil, nourishing groundwater, and ensuring stable water flow year-round for downstream areas, where millions of people depend on this precious water source.

However, it's a regrettable fact that in recent years, these "natural lungs" have been shrinking. Without green forests, nature gradually loses its balance, the climate becomes harsher and more severe, and the damage caused by natural disasters is also heavier. Therefore, more than ever, we need to join hands to act. Protecting forests and planting more trees is not only for our current living environment but also a commitment and responsibility to future generations. Every seed sown, every tree planted, is a spreading germ of hope that contributes to building a greener, healthier, and more sustainable planet.

Understanding this significance, InterLOG will not stop at Ta Dung but will continue to expand its greening journey towards areas along the Dong Nai River. Each step of the journey, each green sprout that InterLOG has planted and will plant, clearly demonstrates the company's determination and unwavering efforts on the path to building a green future, striving for sustainable and lasting development.
