In today's era, most enterprises focus on climate change and sustainable green transition in businesses, moving towards reducing carbon dioxide and CO2 emissions.
Previously, at the COP26 Climate Summit held in Glasgow (Scotland), Vietnam, along with many countries worldwide, committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2050. In particular, the EU's implementation of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) will affect some manufacturing enterprises in Vietnam in efforts to reduce emissions, achieve carbon neutrality, etc. These will be new opportunities for enterprises to gain competitive advantages in the international market and face common challenges from global carbon taxes.
Recognizing this trend, InterLOG company, a pioneering enterprise in creating Logistics and global supply chain solutions, has implemented sustainable development goals following the ESG model - the compass in all activities, friendly and protective of the environment, committed to quality and environmental policies in the following areas:
ISO 14001:2015 is an international standard that specifies requirements for an environmental management system. It provides a framework that an organization can follow rather than establishing requirements for environmental performance.
In the last six months of 2023, InterLOG focused on researching, developing, and preparing dossiers for Environmental Management System Certification according to ISO 14001:2015 standards. In early 2024, InterLOG registered with the ISOCERT unit to examine and approve dossiers. On March 15th, 2024, InterLOG officially achieved ISO 14001:2015 standard certification. At the same time, we continue to maintain periodic evaluation and renewal of ISO 9001: 2015 certification. Through this, the ISOCERT unit will continue to evaluate annually to ensure InterLOG complies with ISO standards according to current regulations.
Starting from the context of increasing environmental protection awareness, our achievement of ISO 14001:2015 certification for the environmental management system is an essential step in Vietnam's journey to achieve net zero emissions by 2050, demonstrating the commitment and responsibility of businesses to minimize negative impacts on the environment in the "Green Transition" journey.
This is not just a major commitment from InterLOG's leadership and all members but also demonstrates InterLOG's long-term and sustainable strategic thinking when integrating environmental issues into business management activities, enhancing competitiveness through optimal efficiency, and building a sustainable future for the business.
Green transition is a long-term campaign and a great challenge for humanity in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and adapting to global climate change.
Each country and business plays a vital role in implementing commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Businesses themselves must also take the initiative to transition to green, use low-carbon technologies, use clean/renewable energy sources to replace traditional energy sources, etc. For this reason, achieving ISO 14001:2015 certification is InterLOG's first step and foundation for the business to understand its position in the country's greenhouse gas emission reduction map, from which to develop a chain of business management plans related to environmental protection and natural resource factors.
With the pioneering role of creating solutions for the manufacturing supply chains of enterprises, focusing on the green and sustainable development trend, InterLOG company always stands shoulder to shoulder with Partners and customers, bringing fundamental values to the community and the country toward a strong, developing and sustainable Vietnamese Logistics community.
