Ojective: The seminar aims to provide businesses with specific principles, the scope of post-clearance inspections, and guidelines for valuation methods to help them avoid common pitfalls. Participants will gain practical insights and guidance to ensure compliance and minimize errors in the post-clearance phase.
The seminar will focus on two main topics:
Post-clearance inspections involve customs authorities examining customs documents, accounting records, accounting vouchers, data, and other related documents concerning goods. Additionally, physical inspections of goods may be conducted when necessary and feasible after customs clearance. Many businesses often prioritize the procedures for import/export without giving due attention to the post-clearance inspection process, which is equally crucial. Consequently, businesses often make basic mistakes when subjected to post-clearance inspections by customs authorities.
During the seminar, Mr. Le Hong Thang, Former Deputy Director of Customs for Processing and Manufacturing Investment in Hai Phong, will provide valuable insights to businesses regarding the principles and scope of post-clearance inspections. He will also guide them on key considerations when establishing valuations, share practical experiences, and address any questions from the attendees. Additionally, Mr. Le Hong Thang will discuss the characteristics of the Customs-Business relationship, offering guidance on appropriate conduct when working with Customs authorities.
During the seminar, speaker Mai Hung Cuong will provide guidance on calculating average taxes in post-clearance inspections based on the valuations reported by enterprises. He will assist businesses in understanding the process of developing and managing risk-based valuations for different types of export processing, manufacturing, and exporting enterprises. This will enable them to determine the average tax amount applicable during post-clearance inspections. Furthermore, he will share practical experiences in managing import-export risks within businesses to support the post-clearance inspection process.
The seminar was a resounding success with the participation of nearly 120 individuals, including representatives from over 70 businesses. This seminar provided companies with a clear understanding of the principles and scope of post-clearance inspections, as well as important considerations regarding valuations. It received highly positive feedback from the attendees, further motivating Visa Alliance and InterLOG to continue investing in and organizing more seminars and training sessions in various regions. This will provide more opportunities for businesses to participate through both online and offline formats.
