By 2050, Vietnam must achieve a net-zero emission commitment. Industries will collaborate to achieve this crucial sustainable development goal.
Decree 06/2022 ND-CP outlines specific strategies and implementation plans for emission management, aiming for Carbon Neutrality and a Net-Zero commitment. Businesses within the target group must conduct an inventory and submit their first report by March 2025.
In order to support Vietnamese businesses on their green transformation journey and achieve the Net-Zero goal by 2050, the British Standards Institution (BSI) in collaboration with the Vietnam Industry Support Alliance (VISA) and InterLOG organized an online seminar "ISO 14068-1: Towards Net-Zero | Which Greenhouse Gas Management Path will Electronics Companies Choose?" on August 15, 2024.
Emphasizing the importance of greenhouse gas management, Mr. Truong Vinh Khang, Head of Sustainable Development at BSI Vietnam, provided the latest information on ISO 14068-1 standards and methods for inventorying and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Mr. Khang also shared details about short-term (5-10 years) and long-term (20 years) carbon neutrality pathways, helping businesses identify steps to be taken from now until 2050, prioritize tasks in emission reduction goals, and declare carbon neutrality for the future.
To provide a clearer understanding of how to implement and apply these practices within their own businesses, Ms. Pham Thi Tinh, Commercial Director of InterLOG and Head of the Supply Chain Committee at the Vietnam Industry Support Alliance (VISA), shared about the green transformation model for internal use, customers, and partners of InterLOG. InterLOG is a pioneer in green transformation, creating Logistics solutions and global supply chains to achieve sustainable goals following the ESG model. Ms. Pham Thi Tinh stated that InterLOG has set a emission reduction roadmap focusing on three main issues: Green awareness, Energy conversion, and Production management. The company aims to achieve carbon neutrality for some key services by 2045. To achieve this goal, InterLOG has organized practical activities such as planting 2500 trees in An Giang and greening Truong Sa with 10,000 trees. In addition, InterLOG has been organizing a series of seminars on "Green Industrial Transformation" to help businesses develop sustainably.
Previously, InterLOG released its first Sustainability ESG Development Report 2022-2023, demonstrating the company's commitment to sustainable development and social responsibility. In a global economy filled with fluctuations and increasing environmental challenges, InterLOG remains steadfast in pursuing sustainable development principles, focusing on minimizing environmental impact, improving resource efficiency, and promoting green initiatives such as reducing carbon emissions and enhancing green logistics solutions in the manufacturing supply chain.
