With over 10 years of experience in providing integrated logistics services and door-to-door transportation as well as acting as a reliable third-party logistics (3PL) provider for FDI factories across the country, InterLOG is honored to be the unit "entrusted" by the Vietnam National Space Center with transporting Vietnam's third NanoDragon satellite to Japan for its space journey on the morning of November 9, 2021 at the Uchinoura Space Center launch site in Kagoshima Prefecture, southern Japan.
This satellite transportation project was not simple as this was specialized equipment, especially the customs procedures and choosing the safest airline for a device equipped with a battery. In Vietnam, as the main handling unit, InterLOG experts consulted, analyzed risks and proposed the most optimal solutions during the complex period of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. InterLOG's consulting contents included customs procedures in Vietnam and Japan, transportation methods to the cargo warehouse at Narita airport, cost consulting and taxes at both ports for the Vietnam National Space Center to ensure the satellite can arrive safely and fulfill its mission.
Based on the consultation and specific transportation route proposed by InterLOG experts, the Vietnam National Space Center agreed to choose the option of transporting the NanoDragon satellite with standard 3U size (100 x 100 x 340.5 mm) and 3.8kg nano coating by air to Japan. On August 17, 2021, the satellite was successfully handed over to Japan and after nearly 3 months passing through the strictest procedures, the satellite was qualified to be launched into space on November 9, 2021 in Japan.
Sharing about the project to transport Vietnam's NanoDragon satellite to Japan, Mr. Nguyen Duy Minh - Director of InterLOG said "we are very proud to have been trusted by the Vietnam National Space Center and assigned this 'agent' this time. This is also our mission in the vision for the next 10 years as a 4PL - Solution Architect creating supply chain solutions, contributing to bringing practical values to businesses and community, especially national projects".
The Vietnam National Space Center also highly appreciated InterLOG's supply chain service operations capability in successfully transporting the NanoDragon satellite to Japan, and hoped to continue cooperating on future transportation projects.
Vietnam's third satellite is a product of the "Research, design, manufacture, launch and experimental operation of ultra-small satellite nanosatellites" topic under the "National Science and Technology Program on Space Technology for the period 2016-2020". The NanoDragon satellite was developed with the purpose of demonstrating the use of a constellation of ultra-small satellites to receive automatic identification system (AIS) signals for maritime vessel collision avoidance or combining data for monitoring and tracking vessels at sea.
The successful transportation of the NanoDragon satellite from Vietnam to Japan marked a major milestone for InterLOG in transporting industrial equipment in Vietnam and globally, while affirming InterLOG's supply chain operations capability in national projects. This success once again demonstrated the high sense of responsibility of InterLOG's team of experts in designing the most optimal transportation and logistics solutions for customers and partners in and outside the country.
